Wine is always in Day One mode. What I mean is, there is always the beginning.

There is never an end.

Like a dream of painting realized.

Process and reality, reflection and appreciation. Every day is new. Keep yourself in start stance, with beginner’s eagerness and play, humility.

Wine is a model for all hours and occasions, not just being in a tasting room or going tasting with your friends.

Today, for me, in so many ways — DAY.ONE.

The only mentality I’m accepting. Last night sipping that odd NV red blend with the Nurse reminded me that the Road is far more crucial and frankly enjoyable than the destination.

When I think about where I am, right now, be it my tech or writing or wine life, or being a single day — I ALWAYS want to be a learner, a beginner. I’m not seeking expertise.

I’m not out to one day be some sage.

I’m concerned with THIS day. What it’ll teach me, how I’ll be shaped in character and cognition.

Wine is design for work ethic, for disciple… process and poetry, design, the page. EVERYTHING.

Wine is the wise one. The emblematic expansiveness that enriches and instructs. We can only be grateful, whether we sip or not.
